Clown Camp directed by Kenny & Brenda Ahern
For over 30 years, Clown Camp has been an intensive training ground for newcomer clowns and for seasoned clowns to hone their skills.
Clown Camp was founded and directed by Dr. Richard Snowberg, a clown for over 35 years and an inductee into the International Clown Hall of Fame.
Since 1981, over 6000 people from over 25 different countries have attended this program since 1981. Former staff and students can be found of 6 continents.
In 2016, Snowberg passed on CLOWN CAMP to longtime staff members Kenny & Brenda Ahern. Kenny & Brenda had been teaching at the camp for over 20 years. Their first year of operating the camp was 2017 and it was a success, with over half of the registrants already registered for the next year. Find out more about Kenny on his website http://www.kennyahern.com
CLOWN CAMP 2018 will again be held at Viterbo University Fine Arts Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
There are over 90 hours of programming at Clown Camp. Last year’s class workshops included:

This year, there will be two special intensives on June 9 for intermediate and advanced clowns. There will be a Laughter Yoga intensive with Laura Gentry and a storytelling intensive split between storyteller Sara Slayton who will teach storytelling with voice and clown/master propmaker (and former director of the Clown Conservatory) Joe Dieffenbacher who will teach storytelling with props. (We’ve feature Joe many times previously here on clownlink.com)
The one day intensive costs $150, and the full week of Clown Camp costs between $600-800, depending on when you sign up and what else you sign up for. This is exclusive of housing and food, which will cost more depending on what you would like.
