Montreal Circus Festival July 8-25- RIGHT NOW!
Holy Crap. I don’t know how I missed info about this. Just happened to read something about a ginormous circus festival happening in Montreal RIGHT NOW. It features some of the top circuses from around the world (and of course, especially Quebec) All happening at the same time.
The festival, called MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CIRQUE, ( or in English “Completely Circus”) is a collaboration between La TOHU, the project’s driving force, with the support of Cirque Éloize, Les 7 doigts de la main, Cirque du Soleil, the National Circus School and En Piste, to create a summer festival that should drive thousands of circus lovers from all over the world to take in Montreal.
La TOHU is a non-profit organization founded by En Piste (the Canadian national association of circus arts), the National Circus School and Cirque du Soleil. Started inJune 2004, La TOHU is now one of the world’s largest gathering places for circus arts training, creation, production and performance.
I count over 22 events by some of the finest troupes and performers around the world. (you can see some of the shows by looking to the left (and this is only some of them!)
To see the full schedule, purchase tickets, and find out more about the amazing happenings going on for the next few days, visit the website online, or just hie yourself to Montreal and bring your credit card– you are going to need it…
