Mark Gindick in Wing-Man (SUNY PURCHASE, 1/27-1/29)
Mark Gindick, who has become a mainstay at the Big Apple Circus (first as an understudy/replacement for Grandma, and now as a clown under his own name) has his first solo show at Suny Purchase next weekend.
Mark is revisiting some gags and ideas that he started in his show 10 years ago ( How To Be A Man) which appeared at the now defunct Palace of Variety on Times Square (sharing the theatre with among many other shows, my own show The Acme Miniature Flea Circus)
The theme for the evening is Mark’s relationship (or non-relationship) with women. He’ll also be reflecting on typical male stereotypes and previewing some brand new material jamming off his inspiration from dance. If you saw Mark in the recent PBS show Circus (or the last couple of years of Big Apple), you’ll know that he’s a guy who loves to dance and move!

Nice. When I was attending SUNY Purchase, we had the Flying Karamazov Brothers and Avner the Eccentric giving performances.
