The Advance Man is one of 4 Finalists for Arts Writing Prize.
I reviewed Jamie MacVicar’s book The Advance Man,last May (read my review here), and now I’m happy to say that Jamie’s book has become a finalist for the prestigious Marfield Prize. This $10,000 prize—(also known as The National Award for Arts Writing) is one of the largest given to a single author. It is awarded annually to a work of nonfiction about the arts that is written in a manner that opens up the art to new audiences.
Jamie is up against some stiff competition, including a book about Charlie Chan, a book about Grant Wood, and a history of the Riot Grrls. [See the list of books below]
It’s an honor to make it to the finalist stage– over 100 books are nominated, and they get whittled down to just four.
