Homunculus Reloaded April 5-15, NYC
Homunculus is an ensemble-based company devoted to creating original work that explores new approaches to using masks in the theater. They incorporate masks with movement, music and optical illusions to create a contemporary form of mask work for a multi-generational audience, and to create thought-provoking and imaginative theater that mirros the humor, sadness, and beauty of the human condition.
Joe Osheroff is the Artistic Director/Mask Maker for Homunculus. He is a graduate of the Dell’arte School of Physical Theatre, and as well has gone on to study maskmaking and performance with Ralph Lee and Donatto Sartori.
Their latest show, Homunculus Reloaded, features a cast of 9 actors who, using original handmade masks, create over 40 hilarious and poignant characters intertwined in a visual pastiche of physical theater, music and dance.
