Interview with Bello Nock: Modern Dad’s Podcast

 

 

In addition to running this site, being a clown, and having a bunch of other projects,  I’ve started co-hosting the Modern Dad’s Podcast.   It’s a podcast where we discuss all things fatherhood, and I’ve been having a great time chatting with internet safety experts, doctors who specialize in dads, authors, and other folks.

Our latest episode is where my world’s collide.  My co-host and I speak with world famous clown and all around great guy Bello Nock for about 30 minutes.  I’ve written about him before on this blog.

During our podcast, we don’t get much of a chance to jackpot, but we have a civilized discussion about his boyhood growing up as a performer (on Broadway, as well as on circuses and other touring shows with his family’s act The Nerveless Nocks.  We also talk about being a daredevil, finding work/life balance when your whole family is part of your business, and strategies for watching your children do dangerous (and sometimes not so dangerous) stunts.

He also talks about his daredevil circus/clown show Bello Mania, which is coming back to the  New Victory Theatre in April.
