German Carneval Float Constructions: Satire on the Street
Not my typical post for this blog, but these German Carneval float constructions are so good that I felt I had to share.
Carneval is a time when things go upside down, and in Germany, that often means that the Carneval floats are merciless in their lampooning of current events. Â This year is no different, with a number of floats that are on the border of being offensive. Â (Which, one can argue, is where the clown should live)
These floats are 3 dimensional cartoons, but they are so well constructed, and well thought out.  I am jokingly considering if I could build one for a local Fourth of July parade, but it would be so out of character (and the parade where I normally am during the Fourth of July) is so red-state oriented that I fear that it might be attacked.  On the other hand, that might be good to create such a strong reaction that people have to act against you.  On some level, it’s much better than people paying no attention or even worse, being blase.

Anyway, enjoy these photos.
I got them from this fantastic article from the Telegraph.
There are many photos also available on Social Media.
What other political floats have you seen? Â Please post them in the comments!
